Zuckermann Italian Virginal II Harpsichord
Professionally assembled from a Zuckermann Kit in the early 1980’s. This instrument has been completely overhauled and restored. A new stand has been built out of solid wood to replace the original Birch plywood stand. The case has been redecorated with General Finishes Tuscan Red Milk Paint. A new bass hitchpin rail has been fabricated of solid maple to replace the original, which had failed (common for these instruments). Also, it has been restrung with Stephen Birkett “P” Wire and requilled with new Delrin plectra. includes the original owners construction and maintenance manual, tuning hammer, and a revised stringing schedule.  The instrument is in fine playing condition and gives a bold, loud tone. 54 keys, GG/BB short octave – e”’. Suitable for all of the music of the 15th, 16th, 17th, and most of the 18th century. tuned to a 415, Quarter Comma Meantone Temperament. Light and portable, it is easily moved in a car or small SUV.
